Bauduc Rosé Cocktail - updated
With the threat of sun this weekend, we’ve updated our popular Bauduc Rosé summer cocktail. Mix Bauduc Rosé with cranberry juice, a dash of vodka (optional), lime cordial and a splash of fresh lime juice. When guests arrive, divide the mix into tumblers with some ice, then add Canada Dry. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Come and see the Bordeaux harvest
It’s set to be an earlier harvest this year in Bordeaux, so the vacant slots for our farmhouse from 14th September to 7th October are bang on for seeing the grapes come in across the region. The house has been fully booked from late May, so do take advantage of the harvest dates. Four doubles/twins, heated pool.

Test your knowledge of French wine regions
If you’re a French wine fan and looking for a distraction, try this cunning test online on French wine regions. It’s in French but it’s as simple as pinning the tail on the donkey. It’s tougher than you might think and you get extra points for speed. French cheeses too (menu, top left).

‘Light whites that are easy on the pocket’
“White wines for summer drinking shouldn’t be too heavy, or too expensive. Here are some suggestions for sipping outdoors” writes John Wilson of the Irish Times (23rd July).
“Château Bauduc 2009. This blend of Sauvignon and Sémillon has quite delicious pear and quince and stone fruit flavours, with a crisp, dry mineral edge. It isn’t one of those overpowering Sauvignons, and all the better for it. Fantastic value.”

Chateau Bauduc is available in Ireland from Curious Wines and From Vineyards Direct. |
