Vineyard in the Dragons’ Den
Bauduc Bondholders might have had a sense of déjà vu as English winegrower Geoff Bowen pitched for a £60,000 investment in a vineyard scheme near Exeter. Confident that 20 wine lovers would cough up £9,500 for 5 cases of sparkling wine a year for 10 years, he wooed canny Duncan Bannatyne. Fizz or Flop?

Tour de France Special
The Tour de France is in Bordeaux this weekend, and we’ve got a pair of loss leaders on offer. It’s the end of the road for our Tour(aine) Sauvignon Blanc from Jacques Lurton, at just £4 a bottle in cases of 12, less 15% discount for ‘combined’ orders over £300. Dirt cheap.

Rosé sales to double
Our new style Rosé, introduced last year, is our top seller. Pale and dry, a £6.99 price tag and a choice of Gordon Ramsay, Rick Stein or straight up Chateau Bauduc labels, as well as sexy magnums, have all contributed to a doubling of Rosé sales year on year – and all direct from the vineyard. Order now to avoid utter disappointment.

Farmhouse ~ a week in September
Our farmhouse has been booked up from May onwards, and we’re open for bookings up to a year ahead. We’ve got one week free this September, from Thursday 16th September, in case you wanted to see what the vineyards look like in Bordeaux just before the harvest. Brimming with healthy grapes, we hope.

Au revoir, Monique
When Monique, our assistant of six years, told us she'd been offered a tasty salary by a Chateau in Pomerol, it was a bit like saying "What can you achieve at Man City that you can't get at Accrington Stanley?" The team gave her a rousing send off and we all wish her well. With the New Economic Reality, and online ordering, we’ll try and go it alone. |
